Oliver Colvile, MP for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, was delighted to visit the London Boat Show last weekend (15th January) to congratulate Mayflower Marina on their recent award from the Yacht Harbour Association.
Every year, Oliver attends the Boat Show to meet with the key players from organisations that help drive Plymouth's economy - especially Princess Yachts.
Commenting on Mayflower Marinas recent award, Jon White, General Manager of The Yacht Harbour Association commented:
"The Yacht Harbour Association are very pleased to present the UK's first UK Coastal marina of Distinction award to Mayflower Marina. The marina of Distinction award is only given to marinas that are category finalists in the Marina of the Year Awards for 3 consecutive years. The award is made in recognition of outstanding long term customer service. This award is evidence that the customer service provided by the team at Mayflower Marina is of the highest professional standards and greatly appreciated by berth holders and customers at this excellent 5 Gold Anchor marina."
Speaking at the Boat Show, Oliver Said:
"Once again, Plymouth's stunning marina and waterfront has been singled out as being excellent. We should all be proud that our our beautiful City is at the top of the pile when it comes to waterfront amenities. This award will build on Plymouth's progress towards the Mayflower 400 celebrations in 2020, when we will commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims leaving Plymouth to found the American colonies".
